The NSW Government is investing $350 million to redevelop Canterbury Hospital in Campsie.
This is the biggest upgrade to Canterbury Hospital in more than 26 years and will deliver better health services for our growing and diverse local community.
The redevelopment will deliver new and expanded hospital services, including:
- A larger, modernised intensive care unit with greater capacity and upgraded equipment.
- Newly built, purpose-designed inpatient accommodation for adult patients.
- A bigger, refurbished emergency department to deliver faster, higher-quality acute care.
- Additional operating theatres to increase surgical throughput.
- Expanded, improved antenatal facilities for enhanced prenatal care.
- Increased capacity for ambulatory and outpatient services to treat more same-day patients.
- New and upgraded spaces for clinical education, staff training and research activities.
- A purpose-built Diagnostic Services Unit offering imaging and other tests to support diagnosis and care.
- Upgrades to support services such as pathology and pharmacy to streamline clinical operations.
- Better campus access, internal circulation, outdoor spaces, landscaping and clearer wayfinding.
